The Foundation

Why Alignment Matters

Your spine is made up of 24 bones that protect the spinal cord. The spinal cord branches out between each vertebra, forming a pathway that allows communication between your brain and the rest of your body.

When any part of the spine moves out of place or becomes misaligned (known as a subluxation), nearby nerves can become compressed, causing symptoms like back pain or numbness, depending on which part of the vertebra is affected.

Chiropractic care promotes proper alignment of the spine and other musculoskeletal structures, optimizing communication between the brain and the rest of the body.

What Is a Spinal Adjustment?

A spinal adjustment is the term used to describe how chiropractic care is performed. It refers to the adjustment of a misaligned vertebra back to its proper position to reduce stress related interference to the nervous system. Specific chiropractic adjustments optimize brain-body communication and allow for natural healing.

Our approach is customized for the individual and can include adjustments done by hand, instrument, or table-assisted. Dr. Erin has additional training in prenatal and pediatric adjustment protocols.
